Ina Jang
Playful and poetic, Ina Jang’s work eloquently explores diverse photographic languages. She is especially known for collages that lively distort the idiom of fashion photography.
In Utopia, using Japanese soft pornography, she cuts out the silhouette of the models to study the construction of the genre. Only remaining photographic texture is the hair, and the viewers are left to discover absences of female figures in familiar posture of sexual invitation.
Ina’s work has been shown internationally in galleries, museums and festivals such as New York Photo Festival, Paris Photo, Unseen, Daegu Photo Biennale, International Festival of Hyères, Musée des Beaux-Arts Le Locle and Foam Photography Museum among others.
Her clients include Shiseido, The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Wallpaper, Universal Music Japan, CR Fashion Book, Condé Nast and The New York Times Magazine.
She currently lives and works in New York.
